2. 46 English -Why Use a Well When a Reservoir Exists? | Bhagavad Gita Shlok 2.46 in English
Shlok 2.46 [thoughtful] Shri Krishna says to Arjun—When a vast reservoir filled with water is available all around, the need for a small well becomes very limited. In the same way, when a person understands the deeper truth of life, the attraction of small rewards gained through different actions begins to fade. This does not mean that the Vedas or rituals are useless. Just as a small well also provides water, they too can show us the right direction. But after gaining deeper understanding, a person no longer remains limited to seeking only wealth, pleasure, or heaven. He begins to see the larger picture of life. Let us understand this through the work of Newton and Einstein. Newton explained the laws of motion and gravity. His laws are still useful in ordinary situations. Later, Einstein presented a broader understanding of time, space, and gravity. Einstein did not prove Newton completely wrong. He revealed a larger picture in which Newton’s understanding continued to have its proper place. [emphatic] Limited knowledge gives us a few answers, but deeper wisdom reveals the complete picture. Once we understand the larger truth of life, smaller rewards naturally begin to seem less important. #BhagavadGita #GitaShlok #Shlok2.46 #GitaInEnglish #Knowledge #Wisdom #LifeLessons #Understanding #Krishna #Mahakavya BIMAL BANGAR
