In Bhagavad Gita Chapter 1, Verse 1, Dhritarashtra asks Sanjaya what his sons and the Pandavas did after gathering for war on the sacred field of Kurukshetra. This opening verse sets the stage for the Mahabharata war and reveals Dhritarashtra’s attachment, bias, and anxiety. From this question begins the deep life-message of the Gita and Arjuna’s coming moral struggle, leading to Krishna’s timeless guidance. धृतराष्ट्र संजय से पूछते हैं— हे संजय, धर्मभूमि कुरुक्षेत्र में युद्ध की इच्छा से इकट्ठे हुए मेरे पुत्र और पांडु के पुत्रों ने क्या किया? इस श्लोक में महाभारत युद्ध की शुरुआत होती है। धृतराष्ट्र अंधे हैं, पर उनकी चिंता केवल आँखों की नहीं, मन की भी है। वे जानते हैं कि कुरुक्षेत्र धर्म की भूमि है, इसलिए उन्हें डर है कि कहीं इस पवित्र स्थान का प्रभाव उनके पुत्रों पर न पड़ जाए। “मामकाः” शब्द बताता है कि धृतराष्ट्र के मन में पक्षपात है। वे कौरवों को “मेरे” और पांडवों को अलग मानते हैं। यही मोह और अन्याय आगे बड़े विनाश का कारण बनता है। आज के जीवन में यह श्लोक हमें सिखाता है कि पक्षपात, मोह और गलत निर्णय परिवार, समाज और संगठन को संकट में डाल सकते
