2.06 - Is Victory Better Than Defeat? Arjuna’s Deepest Dilemma | Bhagavad Gita Shlok 2.6 in English

In Bhagavad Gita Shlok 2.6, Arjuna says that he cannot decide whether it would be better to defeat the Kauravas or be defeated by them. The very people after whose death he would not wish to live are standing before him on the battlefield. Arjuna’s struggle is not simply about winning or losing a war. He is caught between his duty as a warrior and his love for his relatives, elders and teachers. He fears that even victory may bring only sorrow, guilt and emptiness. This shlok reflects the confusion we experience when emotions and responsibilities pull us in opposite directions. When the mind is deeply disturbed, even the difference between victory and defeat can become unclear. The Bhagavad Gita teaches us that important decisions should be made with a calm mind, clear understanding and proper guidance—not under fear, attachment or emotional pressure. **Hashtags:** #BhagavadGita #GitaShlok #Shlok26 #GitaInEnglish #Arjuna #Krishna #LifeLessons #InnerConflict #Wisdom #IndianPhilosophy #Mahakavya **BIMAL BANGAR**
