Deep Thinking
**Beyond the Gita — Stories, Wisdom & Philosophy** The wisdom of Bharat goes far beyond the Bhagavad Gita. **Deep Thinking** is a series where we explore the Bhagavad Gita beyond religion—through philosophy, psychology, history, and major events that shaped human behaviour. In each episode, we take one powerful idea, thinker, or event and ask a simple question: **What does the Gita help us understand about this?** We compare the Gita with the ideas of great thinkers such as **Socrates, Aristotle, the Stoics, Kant, Buddha, Nietzsche, Sartre** and others. We also look at major historical and social events—from **World War II to the Covid period**, including moments such as the nationwide *thali* event—and examine them through questions of fear, duty, leadership, crowd behaviour, courage, attachment, responsibility, choice and human psychology. The purpose is not to prove that every great idea came from the Gita. The purpose is to explore something more interesting: **How many of the deepest questions asked by philosophers, societies and human beings across centuries are also discussed in the Bhagavad Gita?** This is not a religious discourse. It is an attempt to read the Gita as a profound book of **philosophy, psychology, human behaviour and decision-making**—and connect its ideas with the world we actually live in. **Deep Thinking — where timeless wisdom meets philosophy, history and life.** — **Bimal Bangar**
